• Feelings Safari was created by a Pediatric Occupational Therapist – it’s one of the top educational kid’s games to build emotional intelligence and confidence in a fun and interactive way.
  • It’s an Eduational Flash Cards Game that helps kids recognize and name what they feel in many relatable situations, navigate everyday life, build and maintain friendships, participate in group activities, and develop confidence and empathy.
  • 108 Scenarios & Emotions Cards – Each set comes with 73 Scenario Cards and 35 Emotions Cards. We chose Safari animals for Scenario cards, because their face expression doesn’t give away the emotion so easily. That way kids really have to think about the situation and emotion when matching with emotion cards.
  • Fun for all ages – Feelings Safari can be played with as few as 2 and as many as 8 players. It’s especially helpful for preschoolers and school-aged children. There are several ways to play – either as a card game or flashcards for both readers & non-readers. It’s a lot of fun either way!
  • Ideal for families & professionals – Feelings Safari card game helps open conversations about feelings and emotions in a playful and relaxed atmosphere. Great for parents, teachers, school counselors, and occupational therapists.

Introducing “Feelings Safari: The Card Game” – the fun and interactive way for kids to learn about emotions, empathy, and social cues and how to interpret them in everyday situations. As a pediatric occupational therapist, I work with children of all developmental levels. I noticed that many of them had difficulty understanding and identifying their own feelings, and they especially had difficulty reading the facial expressions of their family and peers. We use our faces to express how we’re feeling, and sometimes it even affects how we hold our body, whether or not we intend to. We raise our eyebrows when questioning something, sulk when we feel angry, or add a skip to our step when happy. It’s hard to hide an emotion when it’s “written all over your face”. And it can be frustrating when someone fails to “read” how we’re feeling. It’s an important way of communicating and some kids can totally misunderstand what’s being said. That’s why I wanted to design a fun and interactive learning resource for children. With Feelings Safari flashcard card game, they will be able to recognize and practice various emotions through facial expressions, body language, and voice pitch and tone. Changes in voice can sometimes change the meaning of what’s being said. But some kids take speech too literary and miss the nuances. They may not get the joke or when kids are being mean. By practicing these principles, they ultimately develop emotional intelligence, mindfulness, and increased empathy, and they will have a better understanding of physical boundaries. Children who can identify and understand their own emotions and the signals people send through body language can also better make and maintain friendships, participate in group activities, navigate complex social situations, and develop better coping mechanisms, that become especially handy later in life.
